I am so sorry for the complete silence over here and I am sorry to say it will be continuing for a few more days. Short story: we have been self-quarantined due to extreme flu since Sunday night. I haven’t had something like this since I was a little boy in the 80s and have done very little outside of sleep since then. This is the first time either of us have even been on a computer since Sunday. To make matters worse, Bonnie caught it, my mother-in-law (and Ilan’s only babysitter thanks to his extreme stranger phobia) caught it, and worse of all, Ilan caught it. And he basically shit water for 4 days and while almost out of ER watch, is still one diarrhea episode from a trip to the hospital so we aren’t able to relax yet.

All of our business is located on a separate floor of our house so it has been completely left untouched since we ended work last Friday night and will continue to be left alone until we have been given the okay from our doctor that we aren’t toxic anymore.

We are so very sorry for this. This is one of those times where having no employees fucks you over pretty well. =\ That said, most of our Alexisonfire LPs and all the Triple Crown Brand New records (as well as many other smaller pre-order titles) are all in the hands of our distributors and will delivered to us next week.

If you’ll excuse me, I have a bathroom to visit. *ugh*

Yep, that there be the truth. Both are in-stock with the distros we are getting these from and we should have these shipping out sometime next week, very early the next week, depending on when they get to us and we get them together. For many of you, the wait is finally over. And these are also two of the more prominent reasons why we will be doing pre-orders in a different way going forward.

Yo! Sorry for the lack of updates the past couple weeks. It has nothing to do with the amount of work being done or that anything has changed. There have been no new pre-orders because we are looking to either completely phase out or re-imagine the pre-order because it is just not working in anyone’s favor at the moment.

The reason for no weekly stock updates is that stock man Craig hasn’t been at work and won’t return for another week and a half as he and Only the Strong are preparing for their three days of shows, showcasing themselves at SXSW. I highly doubt that they will leave unsigned or without at least some offers / contacts/ meetings. Very excited for those guys and I can’t wait to see what the future brings them!

A few quick pre-order updates:

*Alexisonfire has been pushed back a couple weeks again to the 23rd. But the record is finally done and now the only thing left, according to Cobraside, is they need to get them shipped from the label in Canada to them and then we have to get them from Cobraside up to us. But since we are no longer waiting on the record to be pressed, hopefully this is the final delay.

*Still in a holding pattern for Brand New. Looks like the Triple Crown version will hit stores next week as expected while the MTS version is still TBA thanks to the most recent delay from the band and their desire to have input on this version. I just dropped MTS a line to see how things are going, so when I get an update, I will make it known here.

Thanks to everyone who continues to support our little record store. We’re just barely scrapping by as we attempt to get a real piece of the vinyl business pie so every single order counts. As much as I’d like the comfort of consistent, established business, there is something to be said about working under the gun.

This past Wednesday and Thursday, we paid for ad time on The Punk Rock Show, run by DJ Rossstar. I realize its not necessarily exciting to hear other people say your name, even if you paid for it, but for me it very much is. So suck it. ;P

…then you might see that puppy on a wall. And if you didn’t happen to notice, Nerd Alert Records has a logo in the “Also Available at” section. Which is beyond amazing. I cannot even begin to explain how cool that Andy of When’s Lunch Records did that, especially considering he surprised me with the news by just emailing the poster. This is awesome not only because its the first time we’ve been featured on a poster but because Bonnie and I are big fans of Pulley.
